Pound Cake
Pound cake is a type of cake made with four main ingredients flour, eggs, butter and sugar of equal measurements.This cake originated from Europe. The name 'pound cake' comes from the French phrase 'quatre quarts' (which means "four quarters") this refers to the four equal parts in the ingredients. This cake is extremely dense, which is why chefs will often choose to glaze the cake with a simple sugar glaze rather than using frosting
Cheesecake
Cheesecake is a sweet dessert consisting of more than one layer. The first layer consists of cheese (typically cream cheese or ricotta), eggs and sugar. Then the second layer is the crust or base made from crushed cookies, graham crackers, pastry or sponge cake. Cheese cake comes in different flavors such as vanilla, lemon, chocolate, pumpkin and etc.
Coconut Cake
Coconut cake is a unusual type of cake as it is not made to often. This cake comes from the United states. Between each layer of cake there is a layer of coconut pastry cream. To finish the cake it is iced with cream cheese or buttercream then coconut flakes are used to cover the whole cake.
Coffee Cake
Coffee cake is a cake intended to be eaten while drinking coffee. The cake is derived from Germany. Generally this cake is made with two layers of cake separated by coffee flavored butter icing which is also covered on the top of the cake. The cake can also be garnished with nuts on top.
